We believe in creating and stabilizing a strong housing stock that creates equitable opportunity for both affordable rents and homeownership in Newport.
What We’ve Done:
Residential Facade Program: This program works with qualified-income homeowners in West Newport to do repairs on the exterior of their buildings. Repairs will be done up to the value of $5,000 per building and require zero match from the homeowner.
1001 York: In implementing our goal of creating and retaining affordable housing options, we are always working with our partners in pursuing opportunities for the building of new housing units. Most recently, we were able to acquire a long vacant lot at 1001 York Street. In working with our partners at Neighborhood Foundations, this has now completed construction and created 4 new affordable housing units on what was once a vacant parcel.
